Split
Skirt with Ruffled Underskirt
TSS-206
This
pattern is for a skirt that creates
the look of an overskirt and ruffled underskirt, without the expense and
extensive fabric required for a completely flounced underskirt.
This skirt is very versatile.
The split opening can be worn to either the front or the back.
As
shown on the front of the pattern this skirt can be made with or without a
ruffle. Instructions are included for 3”, 4” and 6” ruffles as
well as trim options to use with or without the ruffle. The underskirt can be made in three ruffled tiers or in four
flounces. With this variety of
options the final look of your skirt is truly up to the seamstress
This skirt utilizes a double opening waistband. The bulk of the skirt is
either cartridge pleated
(gauged) or gathered into this band. This
pattern is a good skirt for most of the fancier style outfits you may wish to
make. It is a wonderful skirt to
combine with TSB-130 Basic Ballgown
Bodice to create an elegant Ballgown. (See
special notes on how to adapt Timeless
Stitches TSS-201 Standard Double Opening Skirt and
TSB-202 The Gauged Skirt into this style of skirt).
This skirt can be combined with any of the Timeless Stitches Bodice
patterns to make a great Daydress or teagown.
For a Sunday outfit try TSB-103
Tea Bodice. The peplum on the
back of the Tea Bodice and the Split Skirt would make a very nice statement to
the back of an outfit. Combining TSB-105 Zouave Jacket and the Split Skirt would make a great suit.
The pearfect touch to your outfit would be a “Medici” belt.
Try TSA-525 Medici Belt which
gives you three belt options.
