Sleeve Jockeys and Cuffs
TSA-501

Sleeve Jockeys are one of the most known and common of the accessories worn by women of the Era.  Used not only for their looks but also to help protect the clothing from soil and wear, it was much easier to launder a pair of cuffs or sleeve jockeys than to wash a complete bodice.  Chemisettes, collars, sleeve jockeys and cuffs were often made in sets with similar style trimming.  Not only did this give a very “put together’ look, but it also helped to enhance the illusion that a complete body was being worn, when in fact it was just matching accessories
This pattern is designed so that you can mix and match your sleeves and cuffs to get many different results.  Some simple embroidery designs and fabric trimming methods are included with this pattern.

Timeless Stitches pattern TSA-502 Chemisettes and Collars is the perfect companion pattern for this reason.

This pattern is for Sleeve jockeys in 3 styles:
Basic Plain sleeves:  done in three widths to accommodate possible uses.
Sleeves with horizontal trim.
Sleeves with vertical trim.

I have included 5 styles of cuffs usable for these sleeve jockeys.  With the addition of a fabric band many of the cuffs can be tacked into the narrower style sleeves.  They are:
Basic straight narrow cuff usually 1 – 1 ˝” wide

Fancy cuff – usually embroidered
Cuff with ruffles or lace
Regular shirt style cuff that folds back over the sleeve
A rounded variation of the two-part shirt style cuff
